It can take a few tries to find a psychologist who you feel is a good "fit" for you. At Magnolia Tree Psychology all clients complete a brief 15-minute consultation meeting by phone to discuss their presenting concerns and to determine whether the requested services are available at our clinic. During this consultation meeting, you can get a better impression of Dr. Tremblay's approach to therapy and ask any additional questions about sessions or clinic policies. There is no obligation to book a session after the consultation meeting. If you decide that you would like to proceed with Magnolia Tree Psychology, we will send along an intake package for you to complete. If you are not sure that Magnolia Tree Psychology is a good fit for you, we will provide you with a list of other therapists/practices that might be able to provide you with the services that you want and need.
Here are some questions that you might ask during a consultation call:
In private practice, psychological services are not covered by provincial health insurance (OHIP) but are covered by many extended health plans. The psychologist bills the patient directly and they are provided with a receipt that can be submitted to an insurer for reimbursement. It is important to check with your insurer to obtain details regarding the amount and type of coverage you have, and what information they need from you in order to be reimbursed. Please note that Magnolia Tree Psychology does not provide direct billing to insurance.
Session fees at $235 per 50-minute session. This can be paid by credit card or e-transfer. Clients are required to provide 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment, otherwise the full cost of the session will be charged.
You do not need a referral to meet with a psychologist. However, it is recommended that you check with your insurance provider prior to your first visit to see if a physician referral is required for coverage.
Magnolia Tree Psychology offers both in-person services at our office located in downtown Whitby as well as remote options (both phone or secure video) depending on client preference. For remote therapy options, individuals must be located in Ontario at the time of the session.
